Daily Animal Doodles #5 and #6: Bear and Badger

I finished yesterday’s doodle late last night so thought I’d post it along with today’s.

This is an andean bear (yep, thems the Andes in the background) – otherwise known as the spectacled bear. He turned out kinda cute, though I don’t think I’d like to encounter one in the wild.

And today’s animal is a badger. I originally drew him yesterday, but Simon said he looked like – and I quote – “a jack russell with a beard”… so it was back to the drawing board.

I’ve been lucky enough to see a badger up close and not in captivity, as they’re quite elusive (one that was alive, unfortunately round where I live you only usually get to see them cause they’ve met a sticky end). I was walking round to my mum’s house one evening and one just shot out the drive – boy can they move fast! They waddle. It’s cute.

I don’t know why, but I always associate badgers (and foxes) with autumn, so he has an autumnal leaf garland in my favourite seasonal colours.
