Like any Wes Anderson fan, I was stupidly excited to see his first film in three years (and first non-animation film in five), but I was head over heels in love when I realised that his new film, Moonrise Kingdom was set in 1960s New England. These shots were enough to send me heading straight to the cinema (and searching for 60s dress patterns…)

And if that wasn’t enough to stir a vintage-and-Wes-Anderson-loving heart then surely Jason Schwartzman in a scout uniform will do it for you?

I won’t spoil the plot for you, but I will say that this is a simple, charming, funny and beautifully shot film. The perfect remedy for a grey, rainy weekend. And, well, those dresses just speak for themselves.
