Giving Handmade Cards and Gifts

After a week and a half back at work, and with the decorations put away for the year, Christmas is becoming a dim and distant memory… But, I just quickly wanted to share a few of the things I made for friends and family over the festive period.

In 2011, all my family got one bought present and one handmade by me. I’m not quite sure where I found the time to knit four scarves, make two dresses, one top, a belt, several handwarmers and this sofa organiser for my dad! This year I only managed a few handwarmers, plus all the ladies in my family and my female friends got a cross stitch button badge made from vintage fabrics. I wish I’d got a picture of all of them together, I made about 20! But here’s what I did remember to snap…

I also drew and painted my own christmas cards…

I really liked making the initial badges and the mitten cards, so you can probably expect to see them making their way into the Fi & Me range sometime in 2013…

There’s something about making presents that is so special. Everything is unique, personalised and made with care, which you won’t find on the highstreet. Even if you can’t make something yourself, sites like Etsy and Folksy, or local craft fairs are full of talented handmade sellers for you to get that special gift from.

Did you get or make any handmade gifts or cards this Christmas?
