Today was a miserable, cold day and I woke up a bit down in the dumps. It seemed fitting to dress the way I felt, ‘blue’. Though putting together this outfit actually had the opposite effect and it ended up being a pretty productive Saturday – my favourite kind!
I knew I’d be busy running round taking photos for my college project (I study graphic design at night school) plus shopping, so I wanted something comfy, casual, but a little but dressed up and fun.
Shirt – Vintage C&A via Age Concern
Cardigan – Topshop, old
Shorts – Peacocks via Cancer Research
Shoes – Primark, old
Bag – Vintage
Brooch – Handmade by Quite Contrary
The shirt and shorts were two recent charity shop finds (I’m trying not to buy anything that isn’t vintage, secondhand or handmade) and came to a grand total of £10. I just love the 70s frill and polkadot hearts. When I bought them separately I didn’t think about them as a pair, but the two shades of blue just seem to work.
What do you think? Do you ever colour coordinate your outfits or am I just incredibly sad? (On second thoughts, don’t answer that…)
