What I Wore: First Day of Spring

Okay, okay, it’s not the first day of spring today, but it was the first day it honestly felt like spring. There’s nothing better than waking up on the first day of the weekend to blue skies and sunshine. I was determined to dress for the occassion.

Today is also the first day I’ve had chance to play with my new toys – a mini tripod and a remote control for my camera phone – exciting. I also found this great vintage floral skirt for just £5 in a charity shop yesterday, so I thought I’d take the opportunity to try and do an outfit post (please excuse the crappines of my posing, messy backyard and the odd shot with a remote in my hand – oops!)

I really like midlength skirts. Even though I’m a short arse, so they can sometimes swamp me, I think they tend to give your body length. They’re an autumn/winter staple for me, usually worn high waisted with boots and some woolies. But this sat more round my hips, which felt a bit more summery and bohemian.

I styled it up with some tan pumps, wooden beads (originally my mum’s) and my favourite goes-with-everything navy cardigan – cause it may be sunny, but it’s still a bit nippy out.

Crop top – New Look
Skirt – vintage (Barnardos)
Shoes – Primark
Cardigan – Topshop
Necklace – vintage

And just for laughs, here’s one self portrait that, uh, didn’t work so well (there were plenty to choose from).

Looking at these pictures, I REALLY can’t wait for my little garden to start growing again, it looks so sad. Hurry up please spring and summer!
